This product update includes the following enhancements:

New feature–Software License Management (SLM) module

This version has Software License Management (SLM) as a fully available feature.

Important

For the SLM module to work, the minimum required BCM version is 21.02.02. For more information, see System requirements.

Updates to creating and managing software titles

You can copy, retire, unretire, and delete a software title.

Updates to software licenses linked to software titles

We have provided the expiration workflow of software licenses linked to software titles.

You can copy, delete, retire, and renew a software license linked to a software title.

Introduction of the authorizing and unauthorizing assets from a software title feature

You can authorize and unauthorize assets linked to a software title.

You can filter the linked assets according to their authorization status.

Updates to linking and unlinking products and applications from software titles

We have introduced the following updates:

  • Linking and unlinking products and applications from software titles, updates the license consumption metrics on the Software Title form.
  • Linking or unlinking products and applications from software titles, links or unlinks all the assets in Track-It! on which the product or application is installed.
  • The Application Details window displays the details of the assets on which a linked application is installed. Double-click the linked application or click Preview to view the Application Details window.

Introduction to the SLM workspace grid-defining views and performing actions

You can define views and perform various actions on the Software Licenses workspace grid.

Updates to the create a master items list process

You can associate a software title with a master item.

Updates to permissions for Self Service users, technicians, and groups

We have added the permissions accessible to technicians and groups for the software license and software title modules.

Updates to configuring business rules
  • We have updated the list of Out-of-the-box Business Rules to include SLM-related business rules.
  • You can format Business Rule and SLA Send Notification message text by using the different rich text formatting options. You can also insert inline images in the notification message field.

Updates to designing and generating reports

We have introduced the following updates:

  • Added support for DevExpress version 20.1.15.0.
  • Included a list of Out-of-the-box reports.
  • Updated the print preview report type to generate print preview report from the software license module.
  • Added the Software Licenses report type in the Reports module.

Updates to the Migration Tool

We have updated the Migration Tool to import Software License Management Data (Configuration and Module) from Track-It! 11.4.

Updates to formatting of ticket notes created from incoming emailsTicket notes added from incoming emails retain the different rich text formatting and the inserted inline images. 
Updates to receiving items in a purchase order

We have introduced the following updates to receiving items for a purchase order:

  • You can create assets for individually received purchase items or purchase items received in bulk. 
  • You can create single or multiple software licenses for individually received purchase items or purchase items received in bulk.

Updates to deleting tickets

If you delete a ticket record, any linked assignments are also deleted.

Updates to system requirements

We have introduced the following updates:

  • Added support for Windows Server 2022.
  • We recommend the use of CA Signed SSL Certificates for secure data transfers.

  • New Track-It! data model zip file.
  • Ability to view the data model by using the Microsoft Internet Explorer browser only.

  • Ability to view the data model via Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager only if you access the data model on Chrome or Mozilla Firefox.
