Segregating data visible to groups
The Data Segregation utility enables you to segregate the data that a user can view based on the access rights for a particular group. For example, by using the Data Segregation utility, you can ensure that a technician from the Human Resources group cannot view the same data as a technician from the Finance group. By default, all groups can view data for other groups.
You can segregate the data for the following modules:
- Tickets
- Ticket Notes
- Assignment
- Assignment Notes
- Solutions
Notes
- You must perform an IIS reset after running the Data Segregation utility.
- If you perform data segregation for assignments, the successors and predecessors assigned to other groups are still visible.
Before you begin
- We recommend that you create a backup set of your data before running the Data Segregation utility.
- Stop all services such as Email and the Job processor.
