BMC Test Drive - Start Your Engines

Test Drive gives you the opportunity to experience BMC Solutions without having to change anything in your enterprise environment.

Using BMC Compuware Topaz in our cloud-based Test Drive environment, you’ll:

  • Experience AMI solutions in Db2 tools
  • Visualize and understand data relationships
  • Edit and debug source code
  • Generate automated tests
  • Build, test and deploy code
  • Drive Continuous Integration within a DevOps pipeline


 First Things First

  • You should have received a welcome email from BMC Value & Solutions Engineering Director Tim Ceradsky that includes credentials to access to Test Drive for seven days.  If you have any issues accessing Test Drive (or to extend your experience), please contact our Customer Solutions team.
  • Please refer to the Test Drive FAQ before proceeding with your Test Drive experience.
  • Unless your script directs you otherwise, when you arrive at the Compuware Topaz on AWS landing page click the Topaz Workbench icon (indicated by the red arrow):



If you will be using Test Drive to experience BMC Compuware products (indicated in the menu to the left), you must first complete the Getting Started script.  If you will be experiencing BMC AMI products, you may skip the Getting Started script.

Enterprise Data Management

Use BMC Compuware Topaz for Enterprise Data and the BMC Compuware File-AID Data Editor to understand data relationships and manage various file types.



VSAM: Edit and manipulate VSAM data, compare files and visualize MVS relationships using powerful BMC Compuware Topaz for Enterprise Data features.

IMS: Edit and manipulate IMS data and visualize IMS databases using BMC Compuware Topaz for Enterprise Data Editor.

Relational Data: Edit and manipulate SQL Server, Oracle or Db2 data using BMC Compuware Topaz for Enterprise Data Editor.

SQL Development: SPUFI-like ad-hoc tool to query and manipulate relational data.

Use BMC Compuware Abend-AID to help find the cause of program abends easily. Abend-AID provides tooling to assist the developer, saving time and money by pointing directly to the offending line(s) of code.
