Running the BMC Atrium Single Sign-On Installer on AR System server

To integrate BMC Remedy AR System with the BMC Atrium Single Sign-On solution, you must run the BMC Atrium Single Sign-On installer on the computer on which the AR System server is installed. You must have BMC Atrium Single Sign-On server and BMC Remedy AR System server running before performing the integration.

Important

The BMC Atrium Single Sign-On version 9.0 installer can only be used for integration with BMC Remedy AR System installed on Microsoft Windows and RedHat Linux platforms. Use the SSOARIntegration utility for integrating with BMC Remedy AR System server installed on other platforms. For more information, see Running the SSOARIntegration utility on the AR System server.

To run the BMC Atrium Single Sign-On Installer on the AR System server

  1. Unzip the BMC Atrium Single Sign-On files.
  2. Run the installation program. The setup executable is located in the Disk1directory of the extracted files:
    • (Microsoft Windows) Run setup.exe.
    • (UNIX) Run setup.sh (which automatically detects the appropriate subscript to execute).
  3. In the lower-right corner of the Welcome panel, click Next.
  4. Review the license agreement, click I agree to the terms of the license agreement, and then click Next.

    Well, nice try!

The documentation is incorrect, on Solaris (as far as i know it's a Unix system as well (wink)) this message is shown while running the installer.

So, what is the right way to integrate an AR Server and the Midtier on Solaris?

Thank you for your comment, Uwe.

The current version of BMC Atrium Single Sign-On installer support only AR System and Mid Tier servers which are installed on MS Windows and RedHat Linux.

For AR System and Mid Tier running on Oracle Solaris, you must refer to the integration steps mentioned in the following topics, Running the SSOARIntegration utility on the AR System server and Running the SSOMidtierIntegration utility on the Mid Tier.

You can also refer to the note that I have added to the topic.

Do let me know if you need more information. Thanks again for helping us improve the documentation.

      Thanks!

Thank you Abhay for adding those missing parts/articles to the Atrium SSO 9.0 documentation!!

I already did those cli integration steps and it works so far.

There was only one thing which does not work as expected.

If you specify an other realm as the default "BmcRealm" while running the midtier integration (f.e. --agent-realm=QS), the information is not populated correct to the sso agent configuration.

Both entries in Login/Logout URL are correct, but the entry in the Realm drop-down list is incorrect.

Sorry for the delay in response, Uwe.

I have discussed the issue with the SMEs and we have created a defect for this behavior now. Please find the defect ID: SW00476080 on the Known and corrected issues  page.

Currently, as a work around you will have to manually change the realm from the drop down list and save the details.

We will try to resolve this issue soon.

Thank you for providing this information!
