Reconfiguring your browser

This topic provides instructions for reconfiguring your browser for Kerberos.

To reconfigure Internet Explorer

Your Internet Explorer must be version 7 or greater. The following instructions are for Internet Explorer 8.

  1. Navigate to Tools > Internet Options > Advanced.
  2. On the Advanced tab and in the Security section, select the Enable Integrated Windows Authentication option (requires restart).
  3. On the Security tab, select Local Intranet.
  4. Click Custom Level.
  5. In the User Authentication/Logon section, select Automatic logon only in Intranet zone.
  6. Click OK.
  7. Click Sites and select all of the options (default).
  8. From the Sites popup, click Advanced and add the Access Manager web site to the local zone (the website might be already added). For example, sample.bmc.com.
  9. Click Add.
  10. Click OK for all of the pop-ups.

To reconfigure Firefox

  1. Enter the following URL: about:config
  2. Click I'll be careful, I promise!
  3. Double click the Preference Name: network.negotiate-auth.trusted-uris
  4. Add the Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) of the host, for example, sample.bmc.com.
  5. Click OK.

    Do you have any special setting for Chrome or will the IE settings handle this?

      Thanks a lot for your comment.

      Google Chrome is not a fully supported browser for BMC Atrium SSO 8.1. Please use Microsoft Internet explorer or Mozilla Firefox for Kerberos.
