Using the tagging facility

With the tagging facility, you can select multiple rows of data in a view and process those rows with the one primary action command.

On views where tagging is available, the TAG or T column is displayed on the view. The HELP display lists the primary commands that are available for use with tagging.

Tip

If you are also licensed for MainView SRM Automation, you can use the tagging facility to build JCL for batch processing.

To tag rows for command processing, type T (or TK) in the CMD field next to the row that you want to select.

When the T line command is entered on a row, the field in column A (the first field in the view) is highlighted in red, and the letter Y is displayed in the T column for that row. The data in the view is not refreshed after any row in the view is tagged.

The T (or TK) line command is also used to untag a row that was previously tagged. Rows can be tagged and untagged until a primary action command is entered. After rows are tagged, you can enter a primary action command as described in the following section.
