Reporting functions
Functions provide all of the runtime services for the application collector, the performance collector, and the HSM collector.
Functions are defined in the SMFUNCxx PARMLIB member. SMFUNCxx is read during system startup. The suffix specification in the SMMSYSxx member indicates which version of SMFUNCxx contains function specifications for the particular configuration that is being executed.
SMFUNCxx points to the SMFLSTxx (filter list) member, which selects resources and controls the operation of the functions. SMFUNC xx is a required member, and with the exception of the space collector, MainView SRM does nothing without defined function parameters.
You can change parameters by using the Functions option on the PARMLIB Members menu, which you access from the EZSRM Menu.
The following information describes the functions that are available in the Reporting component of the MainView SRM suite of products. Each function must be specified in the SMFUNCxx member to be available and must be active to provide services.
- Performance collector functions
- Filter list parameters for space and performance collector functions
- HSM collector functions
- Application collector function
For more information about system and function definition and about defining and activating functions, see the MainView SRM products usage documentation.
