Policy and scheduled services views

Policies and policy intervals are defined and maintained by using data entry dialogs that are accessed from hyperlinks and line commands that are available in selected views and menus.

The creation of and updates to a policy and its related intervals is accomplished by using the data entry dialogs that are accessed by editing the SMPOLIxx PARMLIB member rather than from a menu option. Altering the SMPOLIxx member directly might corrupt the file and cause processing errors that would require the member be re-created. For a detailed description of the policy feature, see Using MainView SRM products.

Service intervals are defined and maintained by using data entry dialogs that are accessed from hyperlinks and line commands that are available in selected views and menus.

The creation of and updates to a service should be accomplished by using the data entry dialogs that are accessed by editing the SMSCHDxx PARMLIB member rather than from a menu option. Altering the SMSCHDxx member directly might corrupt the file and cause processing errors. This section describes how to navigate the scheduled services views. For a detailed description of the scheduled services feature, see Using MainView SRM products.

For more information, view the Quick Course MainView SRM Reporting - Scheduled Service: Defrag a Volume.

You must have a BMC Support ID to view the Quick Course.
