HSM views

This topic summarizes the MainView SRM HSM view options from which you can select, as well as the SETSRM keywords that are available for each option and a description of the resulting view.

For more information about the MainView SRM HSM collector, see Reference for MainView SRM Reporting.

In all DFSMShsm views, use the TIME command to set date and time ranges for the reporting period; however, the HSMDAYS keyword overrides the TIME command and aligns the reported days with the DFSMShsm cycle days. The DFSMShsm cycle begins when HSM AutoBackup runs. MainView SRM retrieves start and end dates and times from the parameters in the MainView TIME command. If you have not set the TIME command, the default time range is 2 days (48 hours) before the current date and time to the current date and time.

Note

For complete keyword descriptions for the SETSRM command, see SETSRM command.

For more information about the HSM views, see:

For information about establishing a connection between MainView SRM and DFSMShsm, see Customizing MainView SRM products.

Current Recall Queue

(HSMRQUE)

None

Displays recall requests that have been received by DFSMShsm but have not yet been processed

This real-time view is based on a recall queue VSAM data set that is defined by the SMMSYSxx SET keyword HSMRQ_VSAM. The view includes information about recalls that were requested but not yet completed on all HSM hosts that share the recall queue file.

In this view, you can issue a CANCEL line command to cancel the recall requests that originated on the current system but have not yet executed.

Current Recall Systems

None

Lists the data sets that contain DFSMShsm messages and DFDSS messages

Each data set that is listed on HSMOMDS has one or more members associated with it. These members contain the messages from DFSMShsm or DFDSS that pertain to specific areas, such as backup or migration.

Select one of the data sets to advance to the HSMOMDS EZCmd Menu (HSMOMDSZ). In HSMOMDSZ, you can choose to delete the data set or display the members in the data set on view HSMOMML.

DFHSM Module Check (HSMMDCMP)

None

Displays information about the modules that are an interface between DFSMShsm and MainView SRM

Error conditions can occur if the modules that are available to DFHSM are different from the same modules within the MainView SRM address space. This view helps you determine any discrepancies between MainView SRM and DFHSM as they pertain to module availability and module release/version levels.

If the Module Status column contains a value other than MATCHES or UNAVAIL, hyperlink on the Module Name column to investigate the problem further.

This view requires access to the CSVDYNL interface. Contact your security administrator to grant READ access to the User ID for the SVOS address space. The facility is 'CSVDYNL.*.TEST'.

DFHSM CDS Status (HSMCDSST)

None

Displays the data set information for each of the DFHSM CDS files and the MainView SRM recall queue

Masking examples

You can use masking in the following ways:
  • DSN: SYS/ selects all data sets that begin with SYS and contain any additional characters.

  • VOLSER: ABC* selects all volsers that begin with ABC and contain any additional characters.
