Data set size assist facility

Use the DS Size Assist options to view, update, and delete each individual data set record in the database.

A data set record exists in the database for each data set that passed SPACAQTY filter list processing at data set allocation.

Reporting on these views requires that the DS Size Assist feature is active. The feature is responsible for dynamic allocation of the DB to the MainView SRM address space. The Data Set Size Assist feature is part of MainView SRM Allocation.

The following table summarizes each data set size assist option and its corresponding SETSRM keywords and action line commands.

Notes

  • The Data Set Management options do not support use of the TIME command.

  • For complete keyword descriptions for the SETSRM command, see SETSRM command The SETSRM keywords for the DS Summary and DS Allocation Summary views are listed in the DS Size Assist Data Sets dialog.

  • For an explanation of any field or column on a view, place your cursor over the field or in the column and press F1 to access online Help.
