Databases and collection data sets in version 7.7
All MainView SRM database data sets and collection data sets can be brought forward to version 7.7 without any conversion process.
The following databases cannot be used by a previous version once they are written to by version 7.7.
- Space collector database data sets
- VTOC Scan collection data sets (unless PTF BPG6421 is applied to the version 7.6 system)
- CSCAN output collection data set
Note
You might consider making a copy of the space collector database, CSCAN output data set, and any VTOC Scan collection data sets for back out consideration because after data is written to a data set with version 7.7, it cannot be used in previous versions.
Tip
Some views will display zero or blanks in certain fields when a database or collection data set is brought forward from a previous version.
