Application licenses

You must understand your licensing needs before you start the installation process. Depending on the components that you use, you might need several licenses to activate an application. You must activate the licenses before installing the applications.

You can obtain license keys for BMC Service Request Management and other applications that you are installing from the BMC Software Electronic Product Distribution (EPD) web page. Access the EPD page from the BMC Customer Support site at


If you do not know your user ID and password for the site, contact BMC Customer Support.

To obtain a license key, you must provide the following information:

  • Support contract ID
  • Purchase order number
  • Email address
  • Version of BMC Remedy AR System server
  • Host ID of your BMC Remedy AR System server
