Troubleshooting issues related to calculated fields

While creating advanced queries, you may encounter several issues. This topic describes the issues related to calculated fields and related resolutions.

Issue symptom

Report query fails and you get the following exception:

APPLYDST / IGNOREDST clause cannot be specified for sub queries

Issue scope

You pass the parameter to handle Daylight Saving Time (DST) in the inner query of the report.

Resolution

Pass the parameter to handle DST in the outer query of the report. For more information, see Consider or ignore Daylight Saving Time in a report query.

Issue symptom

Smart Reporting subqueries do not work.

Issue scope

You run a single SQL statement between two different data sources.

Resolution

Because the advanced subquery treats each subquery as an individual SQL query, for Smart Reporting to ensure that all possible matches are found for the join conditions, there cannot be any limit on the subquery dataset. To make subqueries work efficiently, do not apply row limit on the data source. Instead, apply row limit in the data source custom parameters.

For more information, see the How to increase the row limit article on BMC Communities.
