Visualizing multiple charts on a canvas to display in reports, dashboards, and storyboards
You can create multiple charts based on one report result set and then display charts on:
- Reports
- Dashboards
- Storyboards
When editing a report, on the Design page, you can add charts and components such as images and text to a multi-chart canvas. To add a Multi-Chart Canvas to a dashboard or storyboard, use the same steps as any single chart report.
To add charts and components to a multi-chart canvas
- Open a report in the Draft mode.
- If the report does not include multiple charts, add them on the Charts tab.
- Click the Design tab.
To add a chart to the canvas:
- On the left side of the window, click Chart Widgets .
- From the Chart Widgets panel, select a chart and drag it to the canvas.
- To add text to the canvas:
- On the left side of the window, click Text Widgets .
- Select one of the text widgets, and drag it to the canvas.
- Move and edit the text as required.
- To add an image to the canvas:
- On the left side of the window, click Image Widgets.
- From the Image Widgets panel, double-click Use Existing Image or Add New Image, and select the image that you want to add.
- Move and resize the image as required on the canvas.
- To add a shape, line, or icon to the canvas:
- On the left side of the window, click Shape Widgets .
- Select a shape, line, or icon, and drag it to the canvas.
If you do not see lines or icons, scroll down to view more on the list. - Resize and edit the image as needed.
- To change the color, order, or other characteristics, click the shape, line, or icon, and change the settings.
- To delete the component, click Delete.
- To change the order, click Order.
- To change the properties, click Menu .
Note
Icons will not appear in exports or emailed versions of the multi-chart canvas.
- To edit the canvas properties, on the upper-right corner of the canvas, click and edit the properties that appear in the following panel:
