Troubleshooting Broadcasting issues

Issue symptoms

The broadcast to save a report to a disk fails with the following error message:

Could not create the folder "file:///<sharedlocation>/<folder name>/".

Issue scope

When the administrator does not share the folder to save the report.

Resolution

  1. Share the folder with the required recipients.
  2. (For Windows only) If the shared folder resides in a machine other than Remedy Smart Reporting server, make the folder accessible from Remedy Smart Reporting server by performing the following steps:
    1. On the Remedy Smart Reporting server, go to Start > Services.
    2. Right click the Remedy Smart Reporting service and click Properties.
    3. On the Log On tab, click This account and then click Browse.
    4. In the Select User window, search for the user logged in user and click OK.

    5. Click Apply.
    6. Restart the Remedy Smart Reporting service.
