Setting navigation for users

As an administrator, you can set the search option and navigation style.

To configure the Search option

  1. In Smart Reporting, go to Administration > Content Settings > Dashboard > Display Settings.
  2. Select one of the following Search Location options:

    • Top—Places the Search option in the main navigation bar at the top of the Dashboard page.
    • RightPlaces the Search option to the right of the active Dashboard tab on the Dashboard page.

To configure the navigation style

  1. Go to Administration > Configuration.
  2. Click the Settings tab () at the top of the page.
  3. Open the General Settings panel.
  4. Select one of the following options for Navigation Style:
    • Left Side Navigation—Places the Search option in the main navigation bar at the top of the Dashboard page.
    • Toolbar Navigation—Places the Search option to the right of the active Dashboard tab on the Dashboard page.

To configure where the Create menu appears

  1. In Smart Reporting, go to Administration > Configuration > System.
  2. Select the following options for the type of navigation you want for your users:
    • For left-side navigation:
      • Navigation Style—Left Side Navigation
      • Content Creation Location—Left Side Navigation
    • For top-right navigation (with left-side navigation enabled):
      • Navigation Style—Left Side Navigation
      • Content Creation Location —Top Right
    • For toolbar navigation:
      • Navigation Style—Toolbar Navigation
