Accessing and finding reports

You can create and access content such as reports, dashboard tabs, storyboards, and discussion streams.

To view reports from the dashboard

  1. Open the left navigation panel, and select a dashboard from the Dashboards menu.
    If your navigation is on the toolbar, click Dashboard.
  2. To view the other dashboards, click the tabs at the top of the Dashboard page .

To browse for reports

Use the Browse page to find and run reports in Remedy Smart Reporting.

  1. Open the left navigation panel, and from the Browse menu, select a dashboard.
    If your navigation is on the toolbar, click Browse.
  2. To select the layout you want to use, click the icon next to Layout, and select one of the following options:

    • ThumbnailsDisplays your content with a gallery-type display.
      Each piece of content displays a thumbnail, which is generated from the display (reports and dashboard tabs), from the assigned thumbnail image (storyboards and discussion streams), or from a generic thumbnail icon (content that has not yet been run or assigned an image). 
    • ListDisplays a text-based list.
      Each piece of content has a thumbnail associated with it; however, to view it, you must view content information through the activity stream panel. From the list view, you can view more pieces of content on the screen at any one time, making bulk actions easier to perform.
  3. To configure the columns that appear in the List view, click Columns in the toolbar, and then select, add, or delete the columns listed in the window that appears.

To search for reports

  1. From the Search list, select the type of content you want to search, such as All, Dashboards, or Discussion.

  2. In the Search field, enter a string that can be found in the Name or Description of the content.

  3. Click the Search icon (), or press Enter. 

  4. To sort the results, click the Sort By icon, and select one of the following options:

    Sort TypeDescription
    NameLists content in alphabetical order.
    RecentLists content by the last date it was accessed, starting with the most recent.
    My FavoritesLists your favorite content first.
    CommentsLists content according to the number of comments, starting with the content that has the most comments.
    ViewsLists content according to the number of user views, starting with the content that has the most is views.

To view the activity stream of a report

Select an item in the list, or select a thumbnail, and click the information icon () above the list. 

The Activity Stream opens and provides information related to the report, its event activity, and comments.

To create a new folder or subfolder

  1. On the left side, under By Folder, select the folder within which you want to create a new folder.
  2. On the menu icon (),  select New.
  3. Add a folder name and description.
  4. From the Folder Hierarchy list, select the required folder.
  5. Click Submit.
