Troubleshooting issues related to calculated fields
This topic describes the issues related to calculated fields.
Issue scope
Smart Reporting sub-queries do not work.
Issue symptom
The following steps result in an active row limit on the data source, as you cannot run a single SQL statement between two different data sources.
- Log in to Smart Reporting as an administrator.
- Create an Incident Management report and add the Incident ID field to the columns.
- Add the advanced union sub-query.
- Select the Problem Management view and join the Problem Investigation ID to the Incident ID.
- Publish the report.
Only the incident related data is displayed.
Workaround
Because the advanced sub-query treats each sub-query as an individual SQL query, for Smart Reporting to ensure that all possible matches are found for the join conditions, there cannot be any limit on the sub-query dataset. To make sub-queries work efficiently, do not apply row limit on the data source. Instead, apply row limit in the data source custom parameters.
