Formatting draft reports

After you have defined the data for your report, you can define the formatting options on the Design page to create presentation-quality reports.

To format a report

  1. Open the report.
  2. Click the Design tab.
    Depending on what the report includes, for example, charts, and whether the report is in DRAFT or ACTIVE mode, you will see some or all of the following icons:
  3. Click the icons and complete the fields in the panels that appear.
    The following table describes what you can do with each icon.

    Hide TableHide the tabular display in the report output and show only charts.
    Note: To see this icon, the report must contain a chart.

    Show TableDisplay a hidden table in the report output, showing charts and table.
    Note: To see this icon, the report must contain a chart.


    Report FormattingApply formatting changes that affect the report as a whole.

    Column FormattingApply formatting changes that affect a single field, rather than the whole report.

    Conditional FormattingApply alerts to a field based on defined conditions.

    Section FormattingApply formatting changes that affect to the way sections are displayed.

    Related Reports FormattingApply formatting changes that affect the way co-displayed reports are displayed. For more information, see Linking multiple reports for co-display.

    Filter FormattingApply formatting changes that affect the way filters are displayed.

    AnnotationView and create annotations. For more information, see Helping users understand reports by adding annotations.
