Creating a chart


You can create a chart by using either of the following two options:

  • Auto Chart—Automatically generates a chart from the common chart types such as Bar, Column, Scatter, and Line charts. The functionality provides common component areas such as Horizontal Axis, Vertical Axis, Color, and Size. Based on the fields you select for each component area, the auto chart generates a most suitable chart.

    For selecting a specific type of chart or any special charts, use the chart selection panel from the right navigation bar.

  • Chart selection panel—Lists different chart types from which you can select. Charts that are suitable for the type of data in your report are available for selection, and other chart types are disabled. You can click different chart types to see different visualizations.

To create a chart

  1. Open a report in Draft mode.
  2. Click the Charts tab.
  3. Drag and drop the fields to the following fields:
    • Horizontal Axis
    • Vertical Axis
    • Color
    • Size
  4. From the Auto Chart list, select Auto Chart or Select Chart Type.
  5. If you select Select Chart Type, select a chart type from the panel that opens on the right.
  6. Click Refresh Chart to see the chart.
