To display the SQL Explorer main menu, select option S (for SQL Explorer Component) on the common panel.
The following table describes each option on the SQL Explorer main menu:

Options | Enables you to change general, analysis, and JCL options |
Explain | Produces online or batch information about a plan, package, DBRMLIB, or ad hoc SQL performance and suggests recommendations for improving performance |
Explain and Compare | Analyzes and evaluates a plan or package and suggests recommendations for improving performance |
Compare | Evaluates a plan or package Explain against previous Explains and suggests recommendations for improving performance |
Mismatch Analysis | Reports mismatches (in data type, length, or both) between host variables or expressions and a Db2 column or expression |
Impact Analysis | Lists all SQL statements that are affected by a schema change |
Migrate Access Path Statistics | Migrates Db2 access path statistics from one subsystem to another Db2 catalog |
Declarations Generator | Automatically generates a DECLARE TABLE statement, a host variable structure, and an indicator structure for nullable columns for a COBOL, C, or PL/I program The generated statements are inserted into a PDS member that you can include in any number of applications. |
SQL Explorer Rules Help | Opens the Rules Help file, where you can search for specific rules by BMC message number |
Maintenance | Provides a mechanism for verifying whether maintenance has been applied and, if so, the level of maintenance that was applied |
SQL queries specify the Db2 subsystem ID (SSID) In non-data sharing environments, you can provide an SSID for this option. In data sharing environments, you can provide a group attach name, a subgroup attach name, or an SSID. | |
DDF Location | Specify another subsystem to access through the Db2 Distributed Data Facility (DDF). |
