This documentation supports the 18.08 version of Remedy with Smart IT.

To view the latest version, select the version from the Product version menu.

Verifying the Smart IT server installation

To verify the installation:

Check the Services and ensure that the application service is running. For Windows, this service is Smart IT Application, when the bundled Tomcat is in use. For Linux, this service is smartittomcat. Go to http://hostname:port/smartit/ and log on using Smart IT Administrator credentials.

hostname is the host name or IP address of the server, and port is the port defined for the administration console during installation.

When external Tomcat is used, for Windows and Linux, this service is the service name that you have provided while installing Tomcat as a service.

Download Tomcat

You can download Tomcat from https://tomcat.apache.org/download-80.cgi.

Note

Smart IT supports Tomcat 9.

(Linux

  • When you perform a fresh installation of Smart IT, the installer registers the following services:

    • smartittomcat (The installer registers this service in the /etc/init.d directory only when bundled Tomcat is used).

    • openfire

(Windows)

  • When you perform a fresh installation of Smart IT, the installer registers the following services:
    • Smart IT Application (only when bundled Tomcat is used)
    • openfire
