The instructions under "Installing the patch" are incorrect. This patch is NOT a replacement for the 1.6 installer, it is a cumulative hotfix.

Can someone please explain the procedure for applying hotfixes on this page Latest DWP Hotfix packages in combination with patches delivered and announced for the same products here 1.6.00.002: Patch 2 for 1.6.00 - Remedy with Smart IT 1.6 ?

How do we know what has to be installed when? What is the latest and most recent package? Which one is a prerequisite for the other?

Do we have to find out the build date and decide on our own? Or will BMC give a clear answer about precedence?

And BTW: The included release notes for the hotfixes are not updated correctly, at least sometimes. They include wrong dates and build numbers in the header.

    Thank you in advance

      Hello Thomas,

Here are the details you were looking for:

      • When you download the hotfix/patch from the EPD, it contains a Read me page that explains how to apply it.
      • The best way to identify the latest package is by checking the build number /ux/rest/version. Generally, our patches are cumulative so you can apply any latest patch.
      • The build date is mentioned on the patch.

Let me know if you need additional help.

      Thanks,

      Rakhi

When I look at the EPD, filter to view MyIT, then open the components console for DWP Basic, I only see DWP 3.4 listed along with the 1.6 UX patch. The 1.6.00.001 and 1.6.00.002 patches aren't shown under the patch tab and the doc tab only links to the DWP 3.4 info - there is no readme for the 1.6 UX patch shown in the products tab. There isn't one in the zipped download either.
However If I go to EPD, filter to view Service Desk, and then open the component console, I see the 1.6.00.00x patch sets. The readme says "Build Base Version: 3.3.02" which makes me wonder if I really need the 1.6.00.00x patch sets as I have 3.4 installed.
I agree with Thomas Hammer, it isn't clear if one should apply either of the 1.6.00.00x patches since they aren't listed on the DWP Basic 3.4 product. And since there isn't a readme, I can't know if they are included in the 1.6 patch listed in the product tab.
I guess the short question is does DWP 3.4 require any of the 1.6.00.00x patch sets. If so, which one - the 1.6.00.00x hotfix patches shown in the Service Desk list of components or the 1.6 UX patch shown in the MyIT DWP list of components?

Maybe this is confusion over naming? SmartIT, MyIT, Digital Workspace.....
