Key Performance Indicator formatting

The Key Performance Indicator (KPI) that is selected automatically appears in a string format that follows the following convention:

-> leadingCharacter
Collection Node Name:
Collection Node ID:
KPI Type (numeric or status):
KPI Hierarchy (name on SLM:SystemMetrics)\
KPI Hierarchy (name on SLM:SystemMetrics)\
KPI Hierarchy (name on SLM:SystemMetrics)\
KPI Hierarchy (name on SLM:SystemMetrics)\
KPI Hierarchy (name on SLM:SystemMetrics)\
KPI Hierarchy (name on SLM:SystemMetrics)\
KPI Hierarchy (name on SLM:SystemMetrics)\
KPI Hierarchy (name on SLM:SystemMetrics)\
KPI Hierarchy (name on SLM:SystemMetrics)\
KPI Hierarchy (name on SLM:SystemMetrics)\
-- (trailing character)

This static format is necessary so you can easily identify the KPI and for the code to parse through the KPI to determine its component for the Bulk Collection Node. BMC Service Level Management (BMC SLM) puts the selected KPI in this format when you select it from the tree structure in the KPI dialog box.
