WinPE 2.x ISO image type

The Add/Edit Image dialog box lets you define or edit the configuration settings of a WinPE 2.x or later (including the recent WinPE 5.x) ISO image type.

For information about creating this file, see Provisioning-Windows-2003-or-later-servers-from-a-local-data-store.

Image file

The name of the image file.

Description

(Optional) Description of the boot image file.

Image path

The tftproot subdirectory that contains this image file.

For example:

  • If this image file resides in the TFTP directory C:\tftproot\boot_2_0, you would set the Image path field to boot_2_0.
  • If it resides in C:\tftproot\boot_5_1, the image path would be boot_5_1.

64 bit image

Check this field if this image is to be used to provision 64 bit machines. Leave it unchecked otherwise.

Set as default image

The default image is the image that the system uses for auto-discovery. For example, when an unknown device PXE boots on your network, the system sends this device the default image.
Because auto-discovery is not supported for the WinPE 2.x ISO image, you cannot set this image as the default.
