Updating the config.properties file
Use this procedure to modify the config.properties file on the TrueSight Server Automation client.
To update the config.properties file
- Open the config.properties file. By default, this file is initially stored in the following location:
- (UNIX):
/opt/bmc/bladelogic/NSH/br/config.properties - (Windows):
C:\Program Files\BMC Software\BladeLogic\NSH\br\config.properties
When a user runs the console for the first time, a copy of config.properties is placed in the following user-specific location: - (UNIX):
<userHomeDirectory>/.bladelogic/config.properties - (Windows):
<userHomeDirectory>\Application Data\BladeLogic\config.properties
If you are setting up an AD/Kerberos environment that many users are sharing (for example, a terminal server) and you have already run the TrueSight Server Automation Console, you should modify config.properties in both locations — its initial location and in your own user-specific location.
- (UNIX):
- Set the following entries to the values shown below. If an entry does not already exist in the config.properties file, add it at the end of the file.
The [confluence_table-plus] macro is a standalone macro and it cannot be used inline.
Where to go from here
If you are configuring a UNIX server, see Obtaining a TGT for a TrueSight Server Automation client (UNIX only).
If you are configuring a Windows server, set up authentication profiles using AD/Kerberos authentication on the TrueSight Server Automation client. See Authentication profiles and Managing-authorizations.
Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
