Configuring the RSA Authentication Manager

You can use the RSA Authentication along with TrueSight Server Automation to provide additional security to user names and passwords. For TrueSight Server Automation integration with RSA Authentication Manager, you need a host configuration file called sdconf.rec. This file provides the address of the RSA Authentication Manager Server and other parameters required to contact it.

You can optionally use an RSA Authentication agent to securely pass user authentication requests to and from the RSA Authentication Manager. When you install and use this agent, the TrueSight Server Automation Authentication Service uses the configuration file of the agent, and therefore, you can skip performing the following configuration procedure.

To configure the RSA Authentication Manager

Perform the following configuration steps when you do not plan to use an RSA Authentication agent.

  1. Log on to RSA Authentication Manager and define an Authentication Agent Host using the Application Server name or IP address.
  2. Generate a configuration file (sdconf.rec ) for the newly created agent.
  3. Copy the sdconf.rec file to the TrueSight Server Automation Authentication Server.

If you are using multiple Application Servers in a multi-node environment, register each Application Server host in the RSA Authentication Manager, and then copy the sdconf.rec file to the Application Server.
