Asset and CI management
BMC Remedyforce 20.15.03 (Summer 15) introduces a range of new and innovative IT asset management capabilities to dynamically identify and manage assets through the lifecycle. You can now define and track both configuration items (CIs) and assets from BMC Remedyforce Configuration Management Database (CMDB). IT asset and CI management are configurable features. Depending on the requirements to differentiate between CIs and Assets, or only manage CIs or assets, system administrators can enable both CI and IT asset management, only CI management, or only IT asset management. For more information, see Enabling asset management and Enabling CI management.
The following topics are provided for managing IT assets and CIs:
- Coexistence of assets and CIs in Remedyforce CMDB
- Overview of the Remedyforce CMDB tab
- Asset management
- CI management
- Editing multiple configuration items and assets
- Working with the CMDB Explorer
- Tracking CI updates by using the Chatter Feed
- Tasks in a BMC Client Management integrated environment
- Starting the Dell KACE console
