Configuring the default dashboard in the Remedyforce Console

The dashboard and QuickViews in Remedyforce Console enable staff members to view a consolidated list of all their assigned records. System administrators can configure a default dashboard for the Remedyforce Console. The first time staff members access the My Dashboard tab in the Remedyforce Console, they can view this default dashboard. However, if the default dashboard is not configured, the top six QuickViews from My Dashboard on the Remedyforce Dashboard tab are displayed. Only QuickViews without a Calendar view are considered in the top six QuickViews. Also, single-module QuickViews are given a higher priority than multi-module QuickViews. If none of the dashboards are available, no QuickViews are displayed.

To configure the default dashboard in the Remedyforce Console

  1. Ensure that the dashboard and QuickViews in the Remedyforce Console are enabled.
For more information, see Enabling My Dashboard and QuickViews in the Remedyforce Console.
  2. Click Remedyforce Console > View > My Dashboard.
  3. On the My Dashboard tab, click Manage Dashboard.
The QuickViews that are provided out of the box or created by other users are listed alphabetically in the Shared QuickViews section. The QuickViews that you have created are listed alphabetically in the My QuickViews section. Any QuickViews that you have created from the Remedyforce Dashboard tab are also displayed in the My QuickViews section.

  4. From the Select Dashboard list, select Default Dashboard.
By default, the My Dashboard option is selected. To configure your own dashboard, keep the My Dashboard option selected and then perform step 5 to step 8.
  5. Select the check box next to the QuickViews that you want to display on the My Dashboard tab.
The QuickViews you select are moved to the Selected QuickViews section. You can select a maximum of six QuickViews from the My QuickViews and Shared QuickViews sections.

Ensure that the QuickViews you select are shared with the appropriate profiles. This information is available on the General page of a QuickView in the QuickView wizard. For more information, see Creating and editing QuickViews in the Remedyforce Console.
  6. (Optional) To remove a QuickView from the dashboard, clear the check box next to that QuickView in the Shared QuickViews or My QuickViews section.
  7. (Optional) In the Selected QuickViews section, perform the following actions:
    • To configure the display order for a QuickView, use the appropriate arrow buttons. By default, QuickViews are displayed in the order in which you have selected them.
    • To display a QuickView across the entire width of the My Dashboard tab, select the Span Full Width check box for that QuickView. By default, two QuickViews are displayed next to each other.
  8. Perform one of the following actions:
    • To save the default dashboard and continue making changes, click Apply.
    • To save the default dashboard and refresh the My Dashboard tab, click OK.
  9. (Optional) To apply the default dashboard to your dashboard, perform the following actions:
    1. (Only if you clicked OK in step 8) Click Manage Dashboard.
    2. From the Select Dashboard list, select Default Dashboard.
    3. Click Apply Default Dashboard to My Dashboard.
    4. Click Apply or OK.
