Customizing fields shown in the CMDB list view of CMDB 1.0

You can configure the columns shown in the list view of the Remedyforce CMDB list view. As an administrator, you can:

  • Add or remove columns
  • Define the display order of the columns
  • Define the width of each column

You can configure the list view only for the Base Element or Business Service class. This configuration is not based on profiles or users.

By default, 25 columns are shown in the list view. To change the number of columns viewed, change the value of the CMDBListViewLimit custom setting. For more information, see Managing custom settings.

To customize the fields shown in the CMDB list view

  1. Click the Remedyforce Administration tab.
  2. On the Home page, click the Configure CMDB 1.0 tile, and from the menu, select List View Customization.

    Note

The configuration options that are supported only in Remedyforce CMDB 2.0 are disabled on the List View Customization page. This includes the New and Delete buttons, Views menu, search option for views, and Class Type and Class Name lists. For more information, see Customizing fields shown in the CMDB list view.

  3. From the List Views section, select the class from the list:
    • When you select Base Element, fields of the Base Element object are shown in the Available Fields list.
    • When you select Business Service, fields of the Business Service object are shown in the Available Fields list.
  4. From the Available Fields list, select the columns that you want to move to the Selected Fields list, and click the right arrow.
In the CMDB list view, columns are displayed in the order in which you have added them to the Selected Fields list. To modify the position of a column in the CMDB list view, you can select the column and click the up arrow or the down arrow in the Selected Fields list.
  5. In the Pixels field, define the width of each column in pixels (100 pixels = 2.646 cm).
  6. (Optional) To remove columns from the Selected Fields list, select the columns and click the left arrow.
  7. (Optional) In the Preview section, you can also preview the changes made to the Remedyforce CMDB list view.
If you are already on to the Remedyforce CMDB tab, the updated Remedyforce CMDB list view columns may not be displayed to you; you must refresh the Remedyforce CMDB tab to view the updated Remedyforce CMDB list view columns.
  8. Click Save.
