Salesforce Mobile

Salesforce provides several mobile applications to access Salesforce data on your mobile device. These applications allow you to view, edit, and create records. You can also perform administrative tasks such as manage users, view organization information, and so on.

Salesforce also provides you with mobile SDK (Software Development Kit) which allows you to create your own mobile application and access the Salesforce data. You can access this data using REST (Representational State Transfer) or SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol) API.

Salesforce1 Mobile Application

Salesforce1 Mobile Application allows you to view, edit and create records. You can also manage your activities, view dashboards and reports and user chatter on your mobile. Salesforce1 supports many standard objects and list views, all of your organization’s custom objects, the integration of other mobile apps, and many of your organization’s Salesforce customizations, including Visualforce tabs and pages. 

Logging into Salesforce1 Mobile Application

To log into your Salesforce mobile application:

  1. Navigate to the Salesforce1 Mobile application. The Salesforce1 home page appears.

  2. Tap Log In. The Salesforce1 login page appears.

  3. On the top right corner of the login page, tap Options. A pop-up displaying three options appears.

    Note

    The application logs you into login.salesforce.com by default.

  4. Tap Change Server. The Connections page with Production selected appears.

  5. Tap Add Connection. The Add Connection pop-up appears.

  6. Enter an appropriate name and custom URL for the connection, and tap Apply. The Connections page displaying all the available connections appears.

  7. Tap Sandbox, and then tap Apply. The page redirects to the Salesforce login page using the Sandbox login URL.

  8. Enter your login credentials and tap Log in to Salesforce. The page redirects to the Salesforce1/Chatter for Android permission page.

  9. Tap Allow. The page redirects to the Salesforce1 application user home page.

  10. On the top left corner of the user home page, tap Menu. The Menu expands displaying the menu options.

  11. On the top right corner of the user home page, tap Notification Bell. The Notification Bell expands displaying the notifications.

SalesforceA Mobile Application

SalesforceA Mobile Application allows Salesforce Administrators to manage users and view information related to your organization. Using the application, administrators can:

  • Reset Passwords
  • Freeze/Unfreeze users
  • Assign Permission Sets
  • View System Status

SalesforceA also allows switching between multiple Salesforce organizations. For managing multiple organizations, you just need to add salesforce accounts in your SalesforceA application.
