Keyboard shortcuts in the Remedyforce Console
Based on your keyboard layout, you can use specific keyboard shortcuts for performing a few common actions on the Remedyforce Console, Incident Console, and Task Console tabs. The same keyboard shortcuts are applicable for the languages and browsers that are supported by BMC Remedyforce.
This section contains the following topics:
Default keyboard shortcuts
The following table describes the default keyboard shortcuts that are supported on the different tabs on the Remedyforce Console:
Note: These shortcuts are also supported if you have configured the BMC Remedyforce modules in the Service Cloud console. However, the shortcuts work only if the cursor is in the form details area.
|Ctrl+Alt+S||Saves the active record|
|Ctrl+Alt+A||Opens the Actions menu for the active record.|
|Ctrl+Alt+T||Opens the Agent Tools menu for the active record.|
|Remedyforce Console||Ctrl+Alt+W||Closes the active tab on the Remedyforce Console tab.|
|Ctrl+Alt+0||Navigates to the first tab on the Remedyforce Console tab.|
Ctrl+Alt+1 to Ctrl+Alt+9
Note: These shortcuts are not supported if you are using BMC Remedyforce in the Safari browser on the Macintosh OS.
Opens a list view, a QuickView, or the dashboard from the View menu on the Remedyforce Console tab. These shortcuts are dynamic and open the list views, the QuickViews, or the dashboard based on the configurations that your system administrator has made.
Ctrl+Alt+1 opens the list of records for the first module in the View menu; Ctrl+Alt+2 opens the list of records for the second module in the View menu, and so on. After the last module, the subsequent shortcut keys open the My Dashboard tab, My QuickViews submenu, and Shared QuickViews submenu.
Alternate keyboard shortcuts
If you want to use alternate keyboard shortcuts for shortcuts that include number keys, you may enable alternate keyboard shortcuts by performing the following steps:
- Click the Remedyforce Administration tab.
- On the Home page, click the Application Settings tile, and from the menu select General Application Settings.
- Select the Enable a different set of keyboard shortcuts in Remedyforce Console check box.
If you enable this setting, the keyboard shortcuts that use number keys are replaced with an alternate set of keyboard shortcuts in the Remedyforce Console. All the keyboard shortcuts except the ones that use number keys are the same as default keyboard shortcuts.
If you enable using alternate keyboard shortcuts, it will disable the keyboard shortcuts that use number keys for tab navigation in Self Service as these shortcuts use number keys. All the other keyboard shortcuts will remain the same as the default keyboard shortcuts.
The following table describes the alternate keyboard shortcuts that are supported in the Remedyforce Console:
|Tab||Default shortcut||Alternate shortcut||Description|
|Remedyforce Console||Ctrl+Alt+0||Ctrl+Alt+L||Navigates to the first tab on the Remedyforce Console tab.|
|Ctrl+Alt+1||Ctrl+Alt+I||Opens Incident list view.|
|Ctrl+Alt+2||Ctrl+Alt+U||Opens Service requests list view.|
|Ctrl+Alt+3||Ctrl+Alt+K||Opens Tasks list view.|

If you have deactivated keyboard shortcuts in your organization, none of the default or alternate set of keyboard shortcuts will work. For more information on deactivating keyboard shortcuts, see Deactivating keyboard shortcuts.
