Configuring columns in a list view in the Remedyforce Console

Select and Order Columns

This topic explains the options to configure columns in a list view in the Remedyforce Console:

To show or hide a field as a column in a list view, add or remove that field from the Column Headers field set. The Column Headers field set is available for all the modules in the View menu (Incidents, Service Requests, Tasks, Problems, Change Requests, Releases, and Broadcasts).

Fields configured in the Column Headers field set are shown across all the list views of a module.

Columns in the list view of Incidents and Service Requests modules are controlled by the Column Headers field set of the Incident object.

The fields in the Column Headers field set of an object are also shown as columns in the lookup window and Link <object> to <object> window for that object. For example:

  • Fields in the Column Headers field set of the Incident object are shown as columns in the Link Incidents to Problem window when staff members click the Select and Link Incidents  to Problem button in the Record Details section of a problem record.
  • Fields in the Column Headers field set of the Broadcast object are shown as columns in the Broadcasts window when staff members click the Broadcast lookup field on the Incident form.

To configure columns in the Remedyforce Console list view

  1. Click the Remedyforce Administration tab.
  2. On the Home page, click the Manage Objects tile, and from the menu, select Create and Edit Objects.
  3. On the Create and Edit Objects page, from the Object list, select the object to whose list view you are adding columns, and click Field Sets.
  4. In the Action columns, for the Column Headers field set, click Edit.
  5. Drag the fields that you want to add as columns in the list view, and click Save.
For example, to show the queue to which a record is assigned, drag the Queue field to the field set.

To enable selection and order of columns in the Remedyforce Console list view

  1. Navigate to Remedyforce Administration > Application Settings > Consoles.
  2. Under General Console Settings, select the Enable Console View Customization checkbox.
  3. Click Save; click OK.

Notes

  • When this feature is not enabled, all the fields that are originally added under the Column Header field set are displayed in the Remedyforce Console list view.
  • When this feature is enabled, only the first 15 fields from the Column Header field set are displayed in the Remedyforce Console list view for all staff members. You can make more fields available to the staff members under the Available Columns list by adding these fields in the Column Header field set. Each staff member can customize the Remedyforce Console list view as per their requirements, by selecting a maximum of 15 fields from the Available Columns list.
  • If you remove a field that is included in the list view from the Column Header field set of an object, the field continues to show in the list view until the following conditions are met.
    • The permission for that field is removed for users.
    • Remedyforce Console > Select and Order Columns is refreshed after removing that field from the Selected Columns box.
  • For information about List view in Remedyforce Console, see Overview of the Remedyforce Console tab.
