VOLUME EXCEPTION REPORT

The following fields provide information about exception conditions on the volume. All monitored data sets on this volume are listed on this report.
DATA SET NAME

The data set name of the database data set(s) that were set up for space monitoring and that reside on the volume.

ALLOC TRACKS

The number of tracks allocated for the data set.

% USED

The percentage of the allocated space that has been used by IMS.

TH

The value of the threshold percentage of space used, set with the % Space Used field on the Space Monitor Registration panel or with the THRESH SPACEUSE keyword.

NEEDED TRACKS

The number of additional tracks needed to reach the threshold percentage of space used for this data set. The actual amount that is physically taken for a secondary extent might be larger. See steps 4 and 5 under Using volume monitoring reports for a full explanation of this concept.

AVAIL TRACKS

The number of tracks for which PCPSPACE simulated allocation to reach the threshold percentage of space used.

AVAIL EXT

The number of extents for which PCPSPACE simulated allocation to reach the threshold percentage of space used.

EX

X in this field indicates that the volume does not contain enough free space to reach the threshold percentage of space used.

The problem is not necessarily with this particular data set. The best approach is to analyze and correct individual data set exception conditions for all data sets on the volume before attempting to correct volume exceptions.
