We are alerting users to a problem in the BMC AMI Ops Monitor for CICS (previously known as MainView for CICS) product. This product is also a component of the following solutions:
- BMC AMI Ops for CICS
- MainView for CICS Management
Issue
When the following conditions exist, an ABEND S0C4 occurs in an unknown module. You will receive the IEC2931 message which indicates the first DCB in a CLOSE parameter list is not accessible. You will also have to restart the BBI-SS PAS. The conditions are listed below:
- You applied any of the following PTFs:
- BPC6401: MainView for CICS, version 6.9
- BPC6402: MainView for CICS, version 7.1
- BPC6403: BMC AMI Ops Monitor for CICS, version 7.2
- You execute any CHISTINT or any CHINT* view with a CICS Transaction Gateway (CTG) in the context
These conditions cause the CMROPCL task to unnecessarily attempt to CLOSE a CMRDETL file with an invalid DCB address which results in issuing the IEC293I message, an ABEND, and the CMROPCL subtask terminates.
This failure requires that you restart the BBI-SS PAS to re-establish the facility to preserve task performance history data (CMRDETL).
Resolution
The following PTFs will resolve the issue:
Version | PTF |
|---|---|
MainView for CICS, version 6.9 | BPC6414 |
MainView for CICS, version 7.1 | BPC6415 |
BMC AMI Ops Monitor for CICS, version 7.2 | BPC6416 |
