Starting and stopping web services monitoring manually

You can start or stop web services monitoring with the FST2 transaction or the CREGAGT view with the following commands:

The following messages indicate the request’s status:

  • FT3089I  MAINVIEW for CICS web services collection started
  • FT3089I  MAINVIEW for CICS web services collection stopped
  • FT3089I  MAINVIEW for CICS web services collection already active
  • FT3089I  MAINVIEW for CICS web services collection already inactive
  • FT3089I  MAINVIEW for CICS web services collection not started-extractor inactive
  • FT3089I  MAINVIEW for CICS web services collection not started-file expansion off
  • FT3089I  MAINVIEW for CICS web services collection not started–ENABLEs failed
  • FT3089I  MAINVIEW for CICS web services collection stopped but DISABLEs failed

These messages are written to the IBM CICS job log, the IBM z/OS console, and to the BBI journal.  For MainView for CICS to collect web services data, the data extractor must be active and file expansion must be on.
