Resetting the CMRSOPT

CMRSOPT can be reset dynamically with the RESET command as follows:

The following command resets monitoring options for all CICS regions:

.RESET PARM CMRSOPT ALL

The following command resets monitoring options that apply to a specific CICS region.

.RESET PARM CMRSOPT cicsName

See the MainView Administration Guide for more information about the RESET command and its parameters.

You can also reset the CMRSOPT with the SRL command on the CREAGT view. See CREGAGT view commands

Data collection is stopped and restarted during CMRSOPT reset.

Note

The CMRSOPT is refreshed when

  • the PAS is recycled

  • the E PARM,CMRSOPT command is issued

  • the SRL command is issued in CREGAGT view

  • there is an FST2 INIT after an FST2 TERM

  • the FST2 RES command is issued

  • CICS is recycled

The agent status (extractor, program timing, session-connection timing, kill-exit) will not be change due to a recycled PAS or FST2 TERM (without CICS being recycled). The status of these agents is preserved in a TSQUEUE at FST2 TERM and is used at FST2 INIT unless the SSID field in the TSQUEUE is blank. A blank SSID field indicates that the CICS was not connected to a PAS at the time of the last FST2 TERM; in that case, CMRSOPT settings are used for agent startup.
