PDFs and videos

This topic provides access to PDFs and videos that support this product. It also explains how to create your own custom PDFs.

Creating a custom PDF

From any page in the space, use the following procedure to create a PDF of either the current page or multiple pages (a parent topic and its child topics):
  1. From the Tools menu in the upper-right, select Export to PDF:

    Notes

    • Although you can export to Microsoft Word, this portal is not optimized for Word exports.
    • If you require an export in XML or HTML format, contact us.
  2. In the Template box, select the PDF style:

    • Simple to export a PDF with no cover, table of contents, or index
By default, the Simple template exports only the current page.
    • Standard to export a traditional PDF with a cover, table of contents, and index
By default, the Standard template exports the current page and its child pages.
  3. In the Export Scope box, select what you want to export:

    • Only this page to export the current page
    • This page and its children to export an entire section (current page and any child topics)

    Example

In this example, selecting This page and its children creates a PDF of all topics in the space's Reference section:

  4. Select Start Export.

Frequently asked questions

This section answers frequently asked questions (FAQs) about the documentation portal.

This following are general questions about mainframe documentation:
How can I get a PDF of selected content in a space?
  1. From the Tools menu in the upper-right, select Export to PDF.

  2. Select the type of PDF that you want:
    • Only this page for a PDF of the current page
    • This page and its children for a PDF of the current page and all of its child topics

Depending on the number of topics included in the export, it might take several minutes to create the PDF. After the export is complete, you can download the PDF.

Where can I get a list of all mainframe AMI products, Cost Optimization products, MainView products, and BMC products for the IBM DB2 and IBM IMS subsystems?

Go to the docs.bmc.com main dashboard and click the BMC Mainframe products (DB2 IMS MainView Cost Optimization AMI) box, or click here to go directly to the list.

poor search function! I looked for SUPERUSER.FILESYS.CHANGEPERMS but couldn't find it. Support could: >>Allows users to use the chmod command to change the permission bits of any file and to use the setfacl command to manage access control lists for any file.<<

Hi, Wolfgang. Because the SUPERUSER.FILESYS.CHANGEPERMS command is not a BMC command, it is not documented on our portal. You can use a standard search outside the portal to locate the explanation that Support cited. Thanks for reaching out to us!
