Creating a new calendar definition base

Follow the same steps to create a new calendar definition base or edit and change the default calendar definition base.

To create a new calendar definition base

  1. On the TOM Easy Menu, place your cursor on the Object/Calendar Bases menu item under Admin Activities and press Enter.
  2. On the COMMAND line, type ADD and press Enter.

    The ADD (New) Definition Base dialog is displayed.

  3. In the New Def Base name field, specify the 1- to 24-character name of the new calendar definition base.
  4. In the New Def Base type field, select Calendar.
  5. (optional) In the Sysplex field, specify a different Sysplex name.
  6. (optional) In the Description field, enter a description for the calendar definition base.
  7. Press PF3 or type END and press Enter to save and exit.

To add or update a calendar

A calendar entry is a definition of a period of time. You can specify a day of the week, a time period, a date or time range, or a combination of any of the above.

  1. To add a new entry, enter the primary command ADD in the TCALENT view.

    The Calendar Entry Add/Edit dialog is displayed.

  2. To update an existing entry, use the Edit line command.

    The Calendar Entry Add/Edit dialog is displayed.
