Current locks
The windows mode views for current lock analysis are provided to replace the full-screen lock services (LOCKD, LOCKU, LOCKE).
In addition to showing the data that is provided in the full-screen services, these views also show additional data, such as the time a lock was acquired or waited on, and identification of the SQL statements that are involved.
Windows mode technology enables Single System Image (SSI) views that show lock status across all members of a data sharing group. In addition, the use of the windows mode join technology supports views that combine the current lock data with current thread data from an existing application. This feature enables the current status of thread activity and locking to be 'frozen' for detailed analysis of holder and waiter data for a contention problem.

You can access all the views for current lock analysis from the DB2 Locking easy menu (EZDLOCK) (PTF BPD4875 applied).

LSDETL | Detail | Lock Detail Shows detailed information about the selected lock Use this view to see all collected information for a lock. This view is primarily intended for debugging purposes. |
LSRCNTSH | Tabular | Lock Resource Contention Short Shows resources for existing lock holders, and the threads that are waiting to access to them. In a data sharing environment, you can view this data in SSI mode to see all waiters for a given lock, regardless of which DB2 system they are on. |
LSRCONT | Tabular | Lock Resource Contention Shows all locks that are being waited on and provides a complete view of lock contention across all your DB2 systems In a data sharing environment, you can view this data in SSI mode to see all waiters for a given lock regardless of which DB2 system they are on. |
LSRHELD | Tabular | Locks Held by Resource Name Shows all the locks that are currently held or being waited on, sorted by resource name In a data sharing environment, you can view this data in SSI mode to see all the locks on all of your DB2 systems. |
LSRHELDZ | Summary | Lock Summary by Resource Name Summarizes current lock activity by resource name Use this view to see an overview of current lock activity, such as the number of locks that are held or waited on per resource type and name. In SSI mode, this view shows the total lock activity in the defined context. |
LSRWAITZ | Summary | Summary of Resources with Waiters Summarizes all locks for resources that are in contention with waiting threads Use this view to see an overview of lock contention by resource. In SSI mode, this view shows the total resource contention in the defined context. This data can be very valuable in a data sharing sysplex. Global contention between members is identified. |
LSTLOCK | Tabular | All Locks Held by Thread Shows all the locks that are currently held or being waited on, sorted by thread The view is usually filtered to show the details of all locks for one thread. |
LSTLOCKZ | Summary | Lock Summary by Thread Summarizes current lock activity by DB2 thread Use this view to see an overview of current lock activity, such as the number of locks that are held or waited on by each DB2 thread. In SSI mode, this view shows the total workload in the defined context. |
LSTSUSPZ | Summary | Lock Contention by Thread Summarizes lock information for all threads that are currently suspended for a lock Use this view to see an overview of lock contention by thread. In SSI mode, this view shows the total workload in the defined context. This data can be very valuable in a data sharing sysplex. |
