Running reports

You can run a report in CSV format (or as a PDF for certain products as described in step 6). Each time reports are run, they are stored in the user\Reports folder where the License Utility is installed ($LicenseUsageCollectorHome\licenseusagecollector\user\Reports\timestamp folder).

To run a report

  1. Click the License Report tab.
  2. From the Select Deployments list, select a deployment (for example, Remedy AR System Server (ARS).
To select multiple deployments, use your CTRL and Shift keys while selecting deployments.

    Tip

To add more deployments to the list, see Adding deployments.

  3. From the Duration list, select a time (for example, Last Three Months).
    1. To select a custom time, select Custom, then double-click to select the start date from the "From" Calendar icon and the end date from the "To" Calendar icon.

      Note

The Duration option is only applicable to: ARS, BSA 8.2 to 8.6, BSA 8.7 to 8.9.02, and TrueSight Server Automation 8.9.03 (formerly BSA), as noted in the tooltip on the Information (info) icon.

  4. Click Run License Report.
The License Report Run Notes box displays the real-time status messages while the report is running. "Process Finished" will appear once completed.
  5. To view the report, in the Details of Selected Reports Run (by Deployment) section, in the License Report column, click the Click Here link.
  6. On the Report File/Location Selection dialog, select one of the following options, then click OK:
    • License Report file
The selected report opens in a CSV format for each product.
The following text appears on the bottom of the file for all reports generated from the license utility: "Report Generated Using BMC License Utility".
    • License Report PDF file
      • The PDF format is supported for the following products:
        • BMC Client Management (BCM)
        • BMC Database Automation (BDA)
        • BMC Digital Workplace (MyIT)
        • BMC Network Automation (BNA)
        • BMC Release Package and Deployment (RPD)

        • Remedy AR System Server (ARS)
        • TrueSight Operations Management (TSOM)
    • License Report log file
The selected report opens in a TXT format for each product.

Note

  • Each time reports are run, they are stored in the user\Reports folder where the License Utility is installed ($LicenseUsageCollectorHome\licenseusagecollector\user\Reports\timestamp folder)
  • Folders containing the reports are named with the date and timestamp when the reports were run. For example, an ARS report generated on July 1, 2015 at 4:23 PM EDT, would appear in the following folder:
    $LicenseUsageCollectorHome\licenseusagecollector\user\Reports\150701_162314_LUCU
  • For BSA 8.7 to 8.9.02 and TrueSight Server Automation 8.9.03 (formerly BSA) the reports are stored in user\Reports\date and time stamp\Blade
  • For BSA 8.2 to 8.6, the reports are stored in user\Reports\date and time stamp\BSA
