Configuring and disabling refresh

When the product is running in a production environment, refresh values should always be set to 0. Values in either the properties file or the Remedy Action Request System server should rarely change in a production environment, and therefore it is not necessary to regularly check for updates. The refresh settings are intended to be used in a test or debug mode to allow changes to be implemented immediately.

Best Practice

BMC recommends disabling the following configuration refresh options in the configuration file:

  • <configrefresh>: How often (in seconds) the ESChat servlet checks the properties file for changes. Set the value to 0 to disable configuration refresh.
  • <ar_configrefresh>: How often (in seconds) the ESChat servlet checks Remedy AR System for configuration changes to Live Chat. Set the value to 0 to disable configuration refresh.
