Exporting report content

Report content can be exported to a number of file formats for use outside the system. These formats include CSV, XLS, PDF, and Print.

To export a report from the Output step:

  1. Click on the Export button on the main navigation bar
  2. Select the format you wish to report to
From here, you may need to provide additional options based on the selected format. XLS, PDF, and Print formats have additional options, for all others simply follow browser instructions to download the file.

Note

If you choose to export report which contains a chart, it will not be exported to XLS format.

XLS

Once you have chosen the XLS format, you will be presented with export settings on the right panel of the menu.

Select your preferred settings and click the Export button.

PDF

Once you have chosen the PDF format, you will be presented with export settings on the right panel of the menu.

Select your preferred settings and click the Export button.

If the report contains Bosnian characters, configure the following settings before exporting the report to PDF:

  2. In the left navigation pane, go to Administration > Configuration.
  3. In the right pane, click the Region icon.

  4. Click Text Formats.

You may be prompted to select your printer settings. These settings are determined by your printer and local software / hardware components. Choose the settings that are appropriate for you, and click the print button.

CSV

(For BMC Remedy Smart Reporting version 9.1.03 and later) Once you have chosen the CSV format, you will see the export settings on the right panel of the menu. Select the preferred settings and click Export.

In order to export the report into a txt format, it does not seem to have any options to choose similar to the options it shows for a Pdf or excel export. I have a report that consists of single set of double quotes for each column heading and value, which I am trying to export the report into a text format. when I do this, the txt file seems to be appending 3 extra sets of double quotes around each column heading and value given under each column.

Wondering if there is any way to fix this issue and avoid the txt file showing the extra double quotes. Please suggest.

While exporting PDF it does NOT export correct data. Bosnian characters š,đ,ć and č are not exported at all. Why is that ?

      Hello Stefan,

To export the Bosnian characters to PDF, we need to perform some settings in Smart Reporting. I have updated the documentation mentioning those steps under the "PDF" section of this topic. This should solve the problem.

Kindly let us know if you need further info on this.

      Thanks & Regards,

      Vrishali

    Hi, need some advice...

Query 1: How do i export my column-size-formatted report to .xlsx and still retain the column sizes i have set in SmartReporting?

Query 2: Is there any way to show the multi-line data in a report cell as multiple lines instead of 1-single-wrapped line?
