Creating default application preference records

You can create default application user preferences that the system references until the user creates their own preference record.

When using Modify All statements to update Application Preference records, make sure that the qualification in your statement does not include the System Default record. Using Modifying All to update the System Default record can have unexpected results. BMC recommends that you make a backup copy of the System Default Preference records before making changes to them.

To create default application user preferences

  1. Open the Application Preferences form (CTM:CFG-ApplicationPreferences).
  2. Modify the System Default record to include default preferences for each application module.

Which is the System Default record? I am looking at the CTM:CFG-ApplicationPreferences form in my system and I don't see anything other than user accounts and Demo. I don't see anything that is called System, Default, Global, or similar. Is Demo the System Default?

Additionally, all Inbox Preference Type values all say User. Is the System Default supposed to be User or System?

Disregard. I found it. I had to search on 'Inbox Preference Type' != "User". There I found 'Inbox Preference Type' = "System Default"
