Configuring a default home page

When you log into the BMC Remedy ITSM Suite of applications, the system uses the Overview console displayed in the IT Home page as the default Home page. From the IT Home page, you must open the Application menu to select the application or administration console you want. However, if your role in the organization requires you to use one console more than the others, you can configure the system to display that console as your default Home page.

This topic describes the following tasks:

To configure a home page for new users

Administrators use this procedure to set up a home page for new individual users.

  3. From the console navigation pane, click Application Preferences.
  4. From the Application Preferences dialog box, select the Home page from the Default Home Page field menu.
  5. Click Save.

To change your default home page

I think this page should link to

    https://docs.bmc.com/docs/display/public/itsm91/Creating+default+application+preference+records

Administrators will typically create a default rule for all users and not set application preferences individually for each user by logging in with the user's account.

under "To change your default home page" , step 4 mentions selecting a new home page from a menu- my version does not have a drop down, only a field to type in the form name. The only one that seems to work is SHR:LandingConsole, and i'd like to have the Application Administration Console but can't find the version of it's name that works here.

      Hello Adam,

Firstly, a System Administrator needs to create a default rule for all users. Please see this topic: https://docs.bmc.com/docs/display/public/itsm91/Creating+default+application+preference+records.

Also, For individual users to change their Home page, they must have permissions to access the console targeted as the new Home page.

      Hope this helps.

      Regards,

      Jyoti
