does the broadcast show up in MyIT? it didn't seem to in my testing, but maybe I missed something. I saw it DID show up on the non-SmartIT incident console/broadcast.

Anne, thank you for your question.
Yes, the Smart IT broadcast can show up in MyIT. If the Smart IT broadcast was sent to the group that includes the MyIT user, this user will receive the broadcast in MyIT.

Thank you this helps save some frustration. We are just in the process of spinning up usage of MyIT/Smart-IT in our organization, and one goal is to use the broadcasts as part of our Major Incident Mangement process.

Unfortunately this highlights a potentially cumbersome issue which limits the utility of broadcasts. Can you by any chance advise on why MyIT broadcasts are isolated from Smart-IT/ITSM broadcasts? From a support staff perspective that forces IT Staff to work in another interface (MyIT) just to administer user facing broadcasts. This was not the case in the old architecture where SRM (which admittedly exists as part of ITSM) served as the user portal and broad casts could be viewed/administered from ITSM easily and user facing could be viewed in SRM. Is there a configuration option to change the behavior so MyIT picks up broadcasts via a plugin provider or similar?

Unfortunately there is now quick workaround, or configuration to enable this connection. Originally when MyIT was released, the only option was to trigger Broadcasts from the Admin interface, as it was deigned to work independently. It is on the roadmap to correct this behaviour.

Thanks for the fast response Larry. Great to know it is recognized and as you put it on the road map. We'll be happy when it gets here, as I am sure other adopters will be also.

After saving a broadcast in SmartIT, there is no option to go back in and modify it? Say for example, the end date needs to pushed out a bit more, or text needs to be updated. What am I missing? I already have broadcast submitter functional role. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

As long as you have rights to the broadcast, you should be able to edit it from the form in ITSM. Not sure how you would get to it from Smart-IT since there is no console for broadcasts, only the create option.Should probably make it's way to a feature request/Idea but hopefully using ITSM to modify helps as a work around (smile)

        Hi Brittany and Dave,

Thanks for your comments, and sorry for the delayed response.

Currently, if you create a broadcast in Smart IT, it's not possible to modify it, either from Smart IT or from the form in BMC Remedy ITSM. I have added a note about this near the top of this topic.

        Regards,

        Cathy
