Compatibility issues with BMC Remedy ITSM SP 1 for version 8.1.00 and BMC Service Level Management 8.1.00

The following compatibility issues have been identified with BMC Remedy ITSM Service Pack 1 for version 8.1.00 and BMC Service Level Management 8.1.00:

  • Fresh installation of BMC Remedy ITSM 8.1.01 with BMC Service Level Management 8.1 is not supported. You will encounter the following errors if you try to upgrade or install BMC Service Level Management 8.1:
    • Forms,views and, integrations are downgraded.
    • All foundation fixes done after 8.1.00 are lost.

This issue will be fixed with the release of BMC Service Level Management Service Pack 1 for 8.1.00.

  • However, if your current BMC Remedy ITSM environment is on 8.1.00 and you already have BMC Service Level Management 8.1, you can upgrade to BMC Remedy ITSM 8.1.01.

Note

BMC Service Level Management 8.1.00, is not supported with BMC Remedy ITSM 8.1.01. See, BMC Service Level Management compatibility.

    When is BMC Service Level Management Service Pack 1 for 8.1.00 due to be released?

    And does this mean that If we have v7.6.04 environment, we merely need to upgrade SLM to v8.1.00 before ITSM is upgraded to v8.1.01 in order to avoid the issue?

    Hi,

       SLM 8.1 SP1 release is tentatively planned in April  .

    Today , we have released a hotfix installer for 8.1 GA SLM.  Please contact BMC Support for same,

    In your case :

    Note : Please use Configchecker tool [ present along with 8.1.01 AR installer zip ] [ present along with AR installer zip ] . You can execute all checks so that all configurations and ID violations are checked before upgrade. Also use BPCU tool to check unsupported customisations which can cause upgrade Failure

    1] You can upgrade AR , Atrium , AI to 8.1.01

    2]Then Upgrade ITSM to 8.1.01

    3] Then upgrade SLM to 8.1.00 using hotfix installer,

    4] Then Upgrade SRM to 8.1.01

    HI Vivek, we already installed itsm sp1 and then slm 8.0 and encountered the issues, can we use the hotfix mentioned above, or better still since this is may now, any update on the slm sp1?

        Manoj Vishnubhotla  :  By installing 8.1 SLM on top of 8.1 SP1  ITSM , i think the foundation is downgraded to 8.1 version.

      1] If you have a DB backup before installing 8.1 GA SLM then please revert to it and use SLM 8.1 hotfix.

      2] If this was a fresh install then please revert to clean system and restart again.

       

      SLM SP1  GA date : please post this in BMC Communities.

    sorry, my original post should have read itsm 8.1 sp1 and slm 8.1

    however the documentation pages above take you to slm 8.1.01 as if the sp1 has already been released.. it has become a nightmare to track what actually is.. except by going to the EPD itself?

    I will post about sp1 GA in the communities shortly.
