Applying the BMC Service Request Management post-DDM packages

When the source version of BMC Service Request Management is 8.0 (or earlier) and the target version is 8.1 (or later), fields in these SRM forms are updated through workflow triggered by a staging form during the post-upgrade portion of the installer. To update the fields for the delta data, see To apply the BMC Service Request Management post-DDM packages.

The following data transformation changes are the results of updated functionality. These changes are already been done while upgrading BMC Service Request Management from version 8.0 (or earlier) to 8.1. To update the fields for the delta data, apply the package in your destination server.

How to verify

(Version 8.1.02) Updates the newly added Full Name field on the SRM:WorkInfo form, which needs to be set with data from the CTM:People form based on the submitter of the work info record.Check for the new values in the SRM:WorkInfo form.
(Version 8.1.02) The extension of the BMC Service Request Management variable feature to support two Date and two Time fields resulted in four new required label fields being added to the WOI:Template form. All the label fields on the Details and Details 2 tabs have an Entry Mode of Required and a default value of “.” (period character). The migration task added for BMC Service Request Management 8.1.02 in conjunction with the extension sets the expected default value of “.” in the four newly added label fields for all existing WOI:Template records.Check for the new values in the WOI:Template form.

Corrects the data on the SRM:Request form and sets the received date to the submit date when the received date is NULL. Any service request created before 8.0 did not have received dates populated. To correct these blank values, the received date is populated with the submit date.

Re-check the corrected data on the SRM:Request form.

Sets the AOI Status field value to "Resolved" and Request Status field value to "Completed" on the Request Details form, based on the Status field value set to "Completed" on the CHG:Infrastructure Change form.

Check the status of the service request created before the upgrade.

To apply the BMC Service Request Management post-DDM packages


Run the Delta Data Migration Tool to migrate data for all applications, including BMC Service Request Management. After the migration is completed, install the BMC Service Request Management post-delta data migration bundle.

  1. Open a command window, and navigate to the Utilities\post_DDM\SRM\patches folder.
  2. Run the batch file with the following command-line options:

    setup.bat <destinationServer> <user> <password> <port>
  3. Follow the prompts and wait for the batch file to finish.
  4. Check the logs located in the Utilities\post_DDM\SRM\patches\Logs folder to ensure that the package installed correctly.
    If there are any errors, correct them before re-installing the bundle.
