Additional notification forms

In addition to the primary notification forms, the Notification Engine has the supporting forms listed in the following table:

Supporting notification forms

Form

Description

NTE:Manual Notification

This display-only form is accessed from Incident or Problem forms and enables users to send ad hoc email notifications. Entries are automatically deleted after they are processed.

Note: This form is not used in 7.0.x. It is deprecated in the 7.6.00 release.

NTE:CFG-Country Code Option

This form is accessible from the Application Administration Console (Custom Configuration > Foundation > Notification Engine > Country Code Option). It stores country codes related to area codes for pager notifications.

NTE:CFG-Numeric Pager Prefix

This form is accessible from the Application Administration Console (Custom Configuration > Foundation > Notification Engine > Numeric Pager Prefix). It stores numeric identifiers related to application forms that are used to prefix messages sent to numeric pagers.

NTE:CFG-Pager Service Config

This form is accessible from the Application Administration Console (Custom Configuration > Foundation > Notification Engine > Pager Service). It stores pager services information that can be used by BMC Remedy ITSM. You must configure pager services before you can select this as a notification method in the CTM:People configuration form.

NTE:CFG-NT Events NonSupport

This form is from previous versions of BMC Remedy for IT Service Providers (ITSP) and is not used in BMC Remedy ITSM 7.x.

This version of the documentation is no longer supported. However, the documentation is available for your convenience. You will not be able to leave comments.

      Hi Jef,

I'll ask with our dev team. Thanks for the posting.

I know that it is used for sending Mails from Fullfillment Processes.

My real question is, why is it not mentioned here ?

Because it pushes the notification directly to NTE:Notifier Form... it should be mentioned here, not?

I've researched a lot of flow on top of the Notifications sent out by the system.

The current Customer uses an RoD system 8.1.

And wanted to use some new Messages (to configure in Sys:Notification Messages.

What I found out was that following notification flow doesn't pass via NTE:SYS-NT Process Control and thus doesn't use Events and/or Sys:Notification Messages.

    1. WorkInfo mails (SRM:Workinfo towards Requesters) (Still an old Notify Filter)
    2. Survey Mails (still an old notify Filter)
    3. Email System mails (uses however NTE:Notifier directly)
    4. There is no generic Message (with attached HTML Templated Content) possible, to refer to when sending out a notification that has a Sys:Notifiction Message, that's still OOTB, and not having a HTML Template... (No possibility neither to add a Content Template on top of the outgoing mailbox)

What I did was Build this in as Custo (via CRB and RFC).

Thus maybe you could review my solution(s) to take all these kind of things into the NTE:SYS-NT Process Control flow.

If you post me I'll give you the Issue Nrs so you can review the CRB docs, and look into some of the solution paths I took to enable following notifications to pass via NTE:SYS-NT Process Controland related Forms as specified in this section.

I've got another question/Idea as well...

Why not make it configurable to create pushes to NTE:SYS-NT Process Control.

Now each time the customer requires a new Notification, you have to build at least one filter that pushes on the correct Run If statement towards NTE:SYS-NT Process Control.

It's not that difficult to create a Form on which you could configure those Run If Statements and use generic flow to push the correct (configured values) to NTE:SYS-NT Process Control without having to create a new Filter.

And if you're doing that why not create a nice interface from which you can access this new Config Form, and the Sys:Notification messages Form; and the Define NT Events form...

It would make it a lot easier for Admins to create Notifications.

    Just my 2 cents (wink)

Hey Jef, thanks for posting this! You've clearly given this a lot of thought; more than two cents worth, to be sure. (smile) The best place for you to post this is the BMC Communities, where your question and idea will get exposure to a much wider range of people: advanced users, senior engineers, product managers, customer support, and so on. BMC Communities is also the place for product suggestions, where ideas can get voted up or down by the community.

      Hi Jeff,

I am having complaints from a customer that has ARS 7.1 and SRM 2.2

He says that he is receiving notification emails when update the work info in a request. (Workinfo mails).

You talk about it in the point 1

      1. WorkInfo mails (SRM:Workinfo towards Requesters) (Still an old Notify Filter)

They want to turn off this notifications. Do you know the filter or how to turn off those notifications.

      Thanks in advance
