For Adobe flash in Remedy

Adobe has announced the end of development and distribution of Flash Player by the end of the year 2020. For more information, see https://theblog.adobe.com/adobe-flash-update/. BMC has taken proactive steps to manage the sunset of Adobe Flash Player. To use Remedy without Adobe Flash Player, BMC recommends that you use the alternatives provided in the following table:

ComponentAlternative currently availableReference
BMC CMDB

Starting with version 9.1.04 of Remedy, BMC has introduced a new CMDB user interface to replace the Flash-based Atrium Explorer user interface. BMC recommends that CMDB administrators and configuration managers use the new CMDB user interface as it already includes CMDB Explorer, searching CIs, normalization, reconciliation, Configuration Manager Dashboard, and CMDB archiving. BMC intends to completely replace the Flash-based Atrium Explorer in upcoming releases.

Flashboards

Starting with version 19.02 of Remedy, HTML rendering is enabled by default for new flashboards. HTML rendering offers more secure flashboards display with an improved look and feel. If you choose to use HTML rendering, all your customized flashboards continue to work as before.

Getting started with Remedy with Smart IT
BMC Change Management

Atrium Impact Simulator uses Adobe Flash. BMC recommends using the Impact Analysis option for performing an impact simulation of CIs, as shown in the following figure.

BMC Service Request Management

BMC recommends that you use Digital Workplace Advanced for service request management functions.

When you click the Process View tab, you can view the process steps and fulfillment applications of the service request. BMC recommends that you hide the Process View tab because the Process View uses Adobe Flash.

If you want to create or modify a Service Request Definition (SRD) using Flash in Process Designer, you can do this in the Development environment, where Flash is installed. By using BMC Remedy Deployment Application or the Import Export Console, you can then import the modified SRD into the Production environment.

BMC intends to completely replace the Flash-based Atrium Explorer in upcoming releases. Please provide some specific release dates. Every bigger company needs some time to upgrade its remedy installation.

The majority of Atrium Explorer capabilities are already available in the new CMDB UI. Remaining pieces will follow soon. Do you have a specific function in Atrium Explorer that you are using today and that you don't see in the new CMDB UI?

How is the BMC Solution for using Impact Model Designer without Adobe Flash? We are disabling the flash support in our company this year and do need the IMD for managing about 70 Service Models to promote it to the Truesight.

    Hello All

We are forced to uninstall the Adobe Flash Player this month up to August 2019 in cause of security reasons. We need a solution of the Atrium Core Console without Flash immediately. BMC intends to completely replace the Flash-based Atrium Explorer in upcoming releases. But when?

How is the BMC solution for using Impact Model Designer without Adobe Flash? How is the BMC solution for using the CMDB Class Manager?

Please provide some specific release dates. Every bigger company needs some time to upgrade its remedy installation.

As you will be aware we are currently transitioning the Flex/Flash CMDB UI to a new structure and technology stack based on Angular, JavaScript and HTML 5 we have been on this journey for a few releases now with the aim of completing in the first half of Calendar 2020.

The functionality of Impact Model Designer was transitioned to the new CMDB Explorer in the 19.02 release when we enabled the editing of CIs and relationships.

Class Manager will be delivered in an upcoming release this year and the remainder completing, as I mentioned in Calendar 2020.

I’m afraid I am unable to provide specific release commitments however hope this guidance is helpful.
